The Squirrel Principle

By Brad Thomason, CPA

If you have ever watched squirrels perform their acrobatics, you have probably been just a little amazed.  I always have been.  I love watching them.  So much of what they do seems impossible.

Many years ago, I started thinking that a major contributor to their ability to do what they do is the fact that no one has ever told them it’s impossible.

I will be brief today.

Donald Trump just won the election.  I have no idea if that’s a good thing or a bad thing and don’t mind admitting as much publicly.

What I do know is this: just about everyone walking around on 2 feet said there was no way he would win.  Apparently he didn’t get the message.

A 1999 interview was the first time that Mr. Trump stated he had designs on the White House.  Seventeen years later he accomplished his goal.

As you reflect today on the fate of the free world, why not take some time to think about your own future, too?  It is possible to do so much more financially than those-in-the-know would have you believe.

Need to replace your income?  Need to boost your net worth by a lot – a million, two million?   Don’t assume it’s impossible, especially if the only thing you have to go on is the opinion of people who have never accomplished it themselves.  Instead, set a goal and be ready to invest some time to get what you want.

The world is full of things that really shouldn’t be possible, but are.  Why not get a piece of that action for yourself?
